- 13:54 Having a super lazy day (despite some cleaning) post feeding 10 people yesterday. We had _just_ enough plates! #fb #
Well, there's several of these too... So here's more of a top 5.
5 - Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe. Albert Einstein.
4 - He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches. George Bernard Shaw.
3 - Education is an admirable thing. But it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught. Oscar Wilde.
2 - I don't mind living in a Man's world. As long as I can be a Woman in it. Marilyn Monroe.
And, my overall favourite in the whole world (one that engineers and designers should get tattooed onto their forearms, if not foreheads):
1 - Imagination is more important than knowledge. Albert Einstein.
For someone who craves information, education and knowledge, it is somewhat ironic that 4 of my favourite quotes focus on the topic, and generally make fun of it. Wonder if that means anything... *scratches head*

Woking
Overall: BAD chinese...
Prawn toast: £3.75 for 2 slices. And I couldn't taste much of the prawn.
Rice: Generous portion. The only good thing I found.
Lemon chiciken... I'm afraid is absolutely awful. They say it's crispy lemon chicken, but it was soggy, _very_ breaded, barely any chicken there, and not as large a portion as what I regularly get from So's kitchen on the other side of the station. If I hadn't been hungry, I'd have tossed it straight in the bin.
Spring rolls: They look more like... umm... Well... they're BIG. sadly, most of that is pastry, and the filling is almost exclusively soy bean sprouts. Boring.
So if you want good (and cheaper) chinese, head to So's kitchen, forget Sweet n sour express. They're not worth it.
Their only redeeming qualities: They use plastic tupperwares instead of aluminum one-use ones, and their chilli sauce is delicious. Oh, and if you do takeaway there's a 20% off their listed menu prices. But at those prices, I'd _never_ do delivery.

Favourite book? ONE favourite book? Ummm... Houston, we have a problem...There's too many of them... I'll try to do one by genre, how's that?...
Fantasy: Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey
Adventure/Mystery: Arsene Lupin contre Herlock Sholmes by Maurice Leblanc
Humorous: La Ballatta delle Prugne Secche by Pulsatilla
Historical: Il Tiranno by Valerio Massimo Manfredi
Spiritual: Wicca: A Comprehensive Guide to the Old Religion in the Modern World by Vivianne Crowley
Crafty: The Sewing Book by Alison Smith
Techie: Web Design in a Nutshell (A Desktop Quick Reference) by O'Reilly / C by Kernigan and Richie. It's a tie.
Fashion: The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947-1957 by Claire Wilcox
Classics: Splendeurs et Misères des courtisanes by Balzac / Macbeth by Shakespeare. Another tie.
Poetry: Fatras by Jacques Prévert / Ποιήματα by Κωνσταντίνο Καβάφη (Poems by Constantine Kavafy) / Les Fleurs du Mal by Charles Baudelaire. Oooh! A triplet!!
There's other books I have loved, but these are the ones I'd always want to have on my bookshelf. Always.
Needless to say I have a somewhat crowded bookshelf...

30 day meme....
As found on
zoecb's LJ.
( The full 30 days meme list... )
So being quite bored, I've decided to try it out, but with a little twist. I'll write daily, for every day in February. And on the 28th I'll post the last 3 (28-29-30) As we're the 3rd of Feb, I've got a little bit of catching up to do. So.
Day 01 -- Your favorite song
We didn't start the fire - Billy Joel
Still remember seeing the videoclip back in Greece on Mtv. Must've been 8? 9? Loved it since then. No idea how on earth I understood the words, as I hadn't studied english yet. Might be a subtitled-in-greek american cartoon overdose. Either way, bless the TV for teaching me english. Heh. (pet peeve: dubbed shows for children or movies for adults. If they don't speak it, let them read it, or wait until they learn it! Plus you lose a LOT of the acting, too!)
Day 02 -- Your favorite movie
Run, Lola, Run (Lola rennt)
One of many that I loved watching, keep recommending, and can't ever forget...
Day 03 -- Your favorite television program
Big Bang Theory? How I met your mother? Top Gear? I'm not a huge television fan, but will be an unhappy bunny if I miss one of these if they're on. Maybe because the remaining programming is such crap.
